All activities included in the rich selection of our programs develop children’s creativity and craft skills. By becoming familiar with traditional techniques such as pottery, clay modeling, paper making, weaving, painting, etc. , we give children a tool for development and learning, and at the same time we enable them to fully use their creative potential. The premises of Vilabela are sensitively furnished so that children can find stimuli and inspiration in them. We use traditional techniques in accordance with contemporary aesthetics and practical use in everyday life.

During the stay, the children will be engaged in activities of your choice. They will practically try out the creation from preparation to the final product, but they will also get to know the history of the given craft or artistic activity. We will be happy to adapt the content of the program to the current curriculum and thus supplement your teaching with practical examples. We will be happy to work out the detailed content of your chosen program based on a consultation.

All activities with lecturers can be carried out in English or German.

At Vilabela, we are happy when children are included in life on the farm – whether it is taking care of the animals, collecting eggs in the morning, taking care of the beds, or helping in the kitchen or one of the workshops…

Taking into account the age and abilities of the children, we will focus on the origin and significance of ceramics and pottery from a historical, folkloric and artistic point of view, working with clay, modeling, decorating, turning on the circle, glazing and firing.

A textile workshop in which children will learn about the origin and history of fabrics, traditional and non-traditional yarn processing techniques /wool felting, spinning, weaving, dyeing with natural colors, sewing…/ and will try some of these techniques themselves.

History of paper, manual paper production, papier-mâché modeling, paper printing using various techniques, production of original covers for textbooks and notebooks, paper shades and other objects, Japanese art of Origami.

The importance of books in our lives, a look into the past. Production of your own book – creative writing, illustration and its processing and binding of a small book, production of a cover. We will talk about the basics of typography, we will show different types of illustration and the approach to them, and we will try what we can do ourselves.

This time, the children will experience the magic of the puppet theater from the other side of the stage…making their own puppets, from different materials, a jointly invented story and its processing, the final performance.

Depending on the age of the students, we will focus on the development of film literacy, a brief history of film, the children will try out the camera, editing, animation, and together as a proper film team, they will make their own short film. Movie evenings are waiting for them, during which they can watch a selection not only from movie classics but also valuable non-traditional fairy tales, we will talk about the movies and I will follow them up with various games.
